Love and Joy Foundation is founded by Mr. Gulshan Chhabra,is a nonprofit organization supporting national and international projects dedicated to indigent local communities. Mr. Chhabra is a community leader actively involved in national and international projects for social development.
The Love and Joy Foundation is founded on the fundamental principles of nurturing and enabling individuals and communities in developing countries, in the areas of health and education, and promoting overall human development. The Board of Directors of the Foundation comprises of persons with had expertise and decades of experience in enabling and empowering communities for social development. ACTIVITIES: In winter of 2009, The Love and Joy Foundation, in partnership with UNICEF, held a benefit dinner for the victims of Haiti and donated USD $30,000 dollars, under the auspices of Mr. Gulshan Chhabra. As an Exxon Mobil franchise owner, Mr. Chhabral assisted member-stations in Katrina Relief by helping raise more than 1 million nationally through the pump program. This year, in October, 2010, we are pleased to host the Charity Ball for Promoting Africa Development, by initiating efforts in Cameroon, Tinechung Village, through the Gender Promotions Center for Africa, founded by Mrs. Alice Mungwa of the Africa Union. The occasion is expected to be graced with the presence of Mr. Kofi Annan, former Secretary General of the United Nations, and H.E. former President John Agyekum-Kufour of Ghana, and H.E. Ambassador Blay-Amihere. OTHER ACTIVITIES OF MR. CHHABRA ARE AS FOLLOWS:
• Appointed by Governor Corzine as a Member of Blue Ribbon Panel on Immigration in 8/07. Responsible for recommending various state immigration policy to the Office of the Governor. • Organized A Gala Dinner for all public officials and coordinating business sponsors with Edison township. • Member of the Board of Trustees of New Hope Foundation, Marlboro a nonprofit organization involved in helping the community.
